Garuba Abdul-Afiz

Garuba Abdul-Afiz is an experienced professional in the engineering and regulatory sectors, currently serving as Deputy Manager at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria since January 2019. Previously, Garuba held the position of Assistant Manager at SEC from 2015 to July 2023 and worked as a Mechanical Engineer at the Federal Ministry of Transport in the Rail Transport Services Department from May 2012 to December 2014. In the latter role, Garuba was a Senior Mechanical Engineer and acted as Project Engineer for significant projects including the Railway Rehabilitation Project and the Railway Modernization Project, both awarded to China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation (CCECC). Garuba earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin, graduating in 2008.
