Luis Villafana is an experienced research engineer at Magna International, specializing in the evaluation of modern technologies for mobility applications since January 2019. Previously, Luis served as a software engineer, further developing machine learning techniques, including optimizing neural networks through structured pruning and fine-tuning. This role followed a co-op position focused on real-time signal analysis using the Keras library. Earlier experience includes a computer programmer co-op at iCan Interactive Inc., where research centered on analyzing signals from wearable devices for children with autism, employing machine learning techniques. Luis holds an Ontario College Diploma in Computer Programming from Georgian College, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering, both from the University of Illinois Chicago.
