Olav Inge Frette

Principal numerical modelling engineer at Sekal AS

Olav Inge Frette has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Olav Inge is currently working as a Principal numerical modelling engineer at Sekal AS since August 2021. Prior to this, they were a Geophysical development team member / software developer at Sharp Reflections from January 2015 to July 2021.

Previously, Olav worked as a Research Scientist in the Basin Modelling Group at SINTEF Petroleum Research from December 2009 to February 2014. Their responsibilities included modelling sedimentary basins, heat flow, pore pressure, secondary migration, rock physics modelling, and pore pressure modelling related to drilling processes.

Before that, they served as a Research scholar in the Reservoir Modelling Group at the International Research Institute of Stavanger from January 2006 to October 2009. Their research focused on modelling equilibrium drainage and imbibition capillary pressure configurations and wettability change.

Olav also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at TGS (formerly Aceca-Geologica) from January 1999 to December 2005 and as a Project Engineer at Schlumberger Western-Geco from May 1996 to December 1998.

Overall, Olav Inge Frette has a strong background in numerical modelling, geophysical development, basin modelling, reservoir modelling, and software engineering.

Olav Inge Frette completed their education at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Cand. Scient. (M.Sc.) degree in Physics. Their field of study during this time was Condensed Matter Physics, with a focus on Petroleum Physics.

Additionally, Olav Inge Frette took several graduate courses at the University of Stavanger. In 2005, they completed a course on Theoretical reservoir simulation. In 2009, they pursued a course on Capillary pressure, wettability, and hysteresis. Finally, in 2018, they participated in a graduate course on Seismic modelling and inversion. Further details regarding the duration of these courses are not provided.
