Peter Turner

Peter Turner is an experienced educator with a strong background in history and related subjects. Currently serving as a Lecturer in History at Selby Sixth Form College since August 2021, Peter also teaches Sociology at Wyke Sixth Form College. Prior teaching experience includes a role as a Teacher of History at Harris Academy Orpington through the Teach First program, where Peter achieved Qualified Teacher Status with outstanding recognition and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Peter's academic background includes a DPhil in Modern History from the University of Oxford and a Maîtrise in Islamic History from Université Paris-Sorbonne, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Mediaeval History and Latin from the University of St Andrews. Additionally, Peter held the position of Professor of World History at ADA University, where courses were designed and delivered to Azerbaijani undergraduates, fostering a deep interest in local history and customs.
