Chief Information Security Officer at Selective Service System

Ruben Ramos II has extensive work experience in various roles related to information security, cybersecurity, and development management. Ruben currently works as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Selective Service System since December 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Branch Chief/Development Manager and Branch Chief/Service Management at the Department of Labor/Bureau of Labor and Statistics from December 2011 to November 2021. Additionally, they worked as the Cybersecurity Policy Lead at the U.S. Department of Labor from June 2021 to September 2021.

Ruben Ramos II also has a background in the military, having served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Senior Cryptologic Warfare Officer from July 1987 to July 2018. Furthermore, they have worked at DISA as the NetOps/Information Assurance Team Chief from November 2009 to December 2011, and at the US Marine Corps as the NetCOP Branch Chief from April 2008 to November 2009.

Furthermore, Ruben has several certifications including the Certification for Program and Project Managers Senior Level from the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)². Ruben also earned certifications as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer and an Information Warfare Officer from the U.S. Navy Reserve, and a Federal acquisition certification IT Core plus specialization from the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI). Finally, Ruben obtained an IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from ITIL Foundation.
