Kristin Faner

Kristin Faner is a software engineer who is currently employed at Self. Prior to working at Self, Kristin worked as a software developer at musx from August 2017 to May 2018. While at musx, Kristin led the team development of front-end unit tests in Jest and back-end API tests in Mocha.js and Chai.js. Kristin also wrote code for and coordinated team development of back-end Node.js/Express REST API endpoints, ensuring consistent queries to Neo4j graph database and responses for front-end calls. In addition, Kristin designed and wrote front-end features such as search term filtering, video/song list autoplay, and asynchronous front-end calls to back-end API using Redux and Axios. Furthermore, they designed Neo4j data model for user-created tags feature and implemented related endpoints. Kristin also worked closely with lead developer on deciding overall code approach for new features and reviewed and gave feedback on colleagues' code during peer review.

Prior to working at musx, Kristin was a senior auditor at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission from December 2010 to August 2017. Before that, they were an accounting assistant at NAMI Texas from October 2010 to November 2010.Kristin's first job was an internal audit intern (class project) at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from February 2010 to April 2010.

Kristin Faner received a certificate in Full Stack Web Development from The University of Texas at Austin. Kristin then went on to get their Master's in Professional Accounting from the same school. Finally, they completed their Bachelor's in Business Administration - Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. Kristin is also a Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.

They are on a team with Clayton Lin - Associate Software Engineer, James Kim - Associate Security Engineer, and Brandon Hines - Lead Software Engineer. Their manager is Gaby Lopez, Engineering Manager.
