Gabriela Lamas-Oporto has a diverse work experience. Gabriela started their career in 2010 as a Facility Assistant at the GT Campus Recreation Center. In 2011, they worked as an Undergraduate Assistant at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, studying the effects of varying biomaterials on the immune system. In 2012, they worked as a Process Co-op Engineer at Ethicon, Inc. where they managed the installation and qualification of new product lines on the manufacturing floor. In 2014, they co-founded SonoFAST, Inc. and also worked as a Senior Process Engineer at Ethicon, Inc. In 2015, they worked as an Operations Supervisor and CPFR Analyst at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson, respectively. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as an E2E Digital Supply Chain Lead in Medical Device and Staff Process Engineer at Johnson & Johnson. In 2020, they co-founded Selia, a platform that allows users to easily find and schedule virtual or face-to-face therapy appointments.
Gabriela Lamas-Oporto has an extensive education history. Gabriela received a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2009 and 2014. In 2013, they also completed minors in Spanish Language from International House Madrid, La Universidad de Granada, and Universidad de la Comunicación, S.C. In 2010, they received a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech Lorraine. In 2019, they completed a Master in Applied Sciences in Supply Chain Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Dale Carnegie, Retail Supply Chain Certification (RSCC), Green Belt Six Sigma Certification, and Measurement Systems Assessment Certified.
