Stephen Allen

Stephen Allen has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Stephen started their career as a Software Developer at Global InfoTek, Inc. in 2000 and worked there until 2002. Stephen then moved on to the University of Virginia where they served as a Graduate Research Assistant from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, Stephen founded their own company called Emiror, Inc., where they operated as the sole employee and provided consultation in HCI and human factors prototypes until 2006.

After that, they joined BBN Technologies as a Scientist in their Knowledge Engineering Business Unit, focusing on information integration and Semantic Web technologies. Stephen worked at BBN Technologies until 2011.

In the same year, they joined both Semantic Research, Inc. as a Principal Engineer and The Apache Software Foundation as a Committer on Apache Jena. As of the available information, Stephen is still employed in these roles.

Stephen Allen has a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Stephen then pursued a Masters of Science in Systems and Information Engineering from the University of Virginia, earning their degree from 2002 to 2004.
