Joel Adamson has a diverse work experience in various industries. Joel is currently working as a Full Stack Engineer at Semios since December 2021. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2022, they were the Owner & Data Scientist at Reliquary Software Consulting.

Before that, Joel worked at Alpha Technologies as a Mechanical Engineer - Design Services from 2017 to 2019. Joel was responsible for leading self-improvement sessions, mechanical design of power distribution bay, and finding innovative solutions for improving product and workplace efficiency.

From 2016 to 2017, Joel worked at AFCC Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corp. as an Engineer - Validation, Testing and Characterization. Joel innovated and reconstructed analysis procedures, implemented custom data analytics, and handled complex automated testing equipment for fuel cell systems.

Joel also had an engineering co-op experience at Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation in 2016. Joel was involved in validation, testing, and characterization of fuel cell systems.

Before joining the industry, Joel worked as a Mathematics Research Assistant at Vancouver Island University in 2014. Joel automated mathematical research, validated models, and reported on results using MATLAB and TEX.

In 2014, Joel also had a co-op role at USNR, where they performed validation work for optimization software, innovated quality validation reporting, and designed a web interface for warehouse inventory management software.

Their early work experience includes a Design Engineering Co-op role at Seastar Solutions in 2013, where they designed test fixtures, machined prototypes, and worked on electrical prototyping and design.

Joel Adamson obtained their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria, a program completed between 2012 and 2016. Prior to attending the University of Victoria, Joel spent two years (2010-2012) at Vancouver Island University, where they pursued Engineering and ultimately transferred to the University of Victoria.
