Hossein Haghighi Nia has extensive work experience in civil and structural engineering. Hossein started their career as a Structural Engineer at Development & Engineering Executive in 1992, where they checked and reviewed calculations, designed buildings, and worked on the rehabilitation of major structures. Hossein then moved on to Hipp Engineering as a Senior Civil Structural Engineer, designing structures for heavy industrial projects and preparing contract documents. Hossein continued their career at Sargent & Lundy as a Senior Structural Engineer, working on various projects including power plants and combined cycle projects. Hossein joined Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals in 2006 as a Technical Specialist and SME Structural Engineer, where they were responsible for dynamic analysis, seismic and blast design, machine vibrations, and other structural designs for LNG projects. Currently, they are working as the LNG Chief Engineer - Civil / Structural / Architecture at Sempra Infrastructure.

Hossein Haghighi Nia has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Oklahoma – Gallogly College of Engineering, which they completed between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they attended Bechtel University from 2008 to 2015, where they focused on Structural Dynamic, though the specific degree obtained is not mentioned. In 1999, they completed their undergraduate education in Civil Engineering at The University of British Columbia, earning a degree that is also unspecified. Additionally, in September 2013, they obtained a certification as a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
