Maisarah Mokhtar

Laboratory Molecular Biologist at Sengenics

Maisarah Mokhtar has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biology. Maisarah is currently working as a Laboratory Molecular Biologist at Sengenics, where they focus on microarray service and research and development of KREX-based protein microarray technology. Maisarah'sresponsibilities include array operations, technical consultations, knowledge and technology transfer, product development, and analyzing arrays and images for autoantibody discoveries, drug companion, and infectious disease diagnostics.

Prior to their current role, Maisarah worked as a Research Technician at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey from September 2018 to July 2020. Maisarah'swork in the Department of Blood Disorders involved conducting NIH-funded research studies on Leukemia/Lymphoma cell lines and analyzing data. Maisarah also participated in conferences and seminars, where they presented their work in poster presentations.

Maisarah's earlier experience includes serving as an Entrepreneurial Agriculture Intern at Rutgers University's New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) Research Greenhouse, Department of Plant Biology. During their internship, they focused on indoor cultivation and greenhouse crop production, specifically within the hydroponic system. Maisarah'swork earned their recognition, as they won one of the top three Best Intern of the Year Awards at the Entrepreneurial Agriculture Day.

Additionally, Maisarah worked as a Research Assistant in Raskin's Laboratory, Department of Plant Biology at Rutgers University. In this role, they conducted experiments on human epithelial cells to study the anti-inflammatory effects of Isothiocyanate-enriched Moringa Seed Extract (MSE) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Maisarah'sresponsibilities included protein analysis, qRTPCR, and ELISA techniques.

Maisarah Mokhtar attended Rutgers University from 2015 to 2018. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Biochemistry.
