Sr. Director of Engineering at Sensei

Marcus Rosenthal has extensive work experience in the engineering and robotics industry. Marcus is currently working as the Senior Director of Engineering at Sensei Ag, where they are responsible for directing engineering projects related to indoor farming. Marcus'srole involves integrating existing technologies and leading the development of new products and solutions. Additionally, Marcus serves as the technical lead for the sustainable packaging team.

Prior to joining Sensei Ag, Marcus worked as an Advisor at Sunny Irrigation and as the VP of Engineering at Local Urban Vegetables. In these roles, they were involved in designing and building large-scale, highly-automated vertical farming systems. Marcus collaborated closely with farmers to optimize the design of the vertical farm, enabling precise control and insight into the health of the plants.

Marcus's entrepreneurial journey started with the founding of RevolveRobotics, where they served as the Co-founder and CEO. The company introduced the Kubi Telepresence Robot to the market, allowing remote participants on video calls to have an interactive presence. Marcus successfully brought this innovative product to customers in various sectors, including consumers, enterprise, education, and healthcare.

Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Marcus worked at Artificial Muscle, Inc. as the Director of Strategic Alliances and the Technical co-founder. Marcus played a key role in commercializing new actuator technology based on silicone rubber. Marcus was also involved in managing manufacturing engineering and served as a co-founder and manager at EPAM Technology, a subsidiary of Artificial Muscle, Inc.

Marcus began their career as a Research Engineer at SRI International, where they developed actuator technology based on electroactive polymer artificial muscle. Marcus contributed to both government and privately funded research projects and developed reliable manufacturing processes for linear actuators.

Additionally, Marcus gained research experience at UC Berkeley's Polypedal Lab, where they worked as a Lab Assistant, studying animal and insect locomotion for robotic design inspiration. Marcus also worked as a Skateboarding Instructor at UC Berkeley.
