Omar Ayyub has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Omar is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Senseonics, Incorporated since November 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Scientific Officer at Archimedes Bioengineering starting from August 2016.
Before joining Archimedes Bioengineering, Omar worked as an Analyst at Asklepion Pharmaceuticals LLC, where they were responsible for managing the workflow between various vendors and overseeing the clinical trial material supply chain. Omar also conducted data visualization, statistical analysis, and gap analysis for regulatory filings.
Earlier in their career, Omar held the position of Assistant Research Professor at the University of Maryland from August 2017 to June 2020. Omar gained valuable research experience as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Children's National Health System, where they worked on validation protocols for point-of-care blood ammonia monitors and conducted statistical analysis in diagnosing metabolic disorders.
Omar's academic background includes being a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland College Park from August 2010 to August 2014 and an Undergraduate Research Assistant from February 2007 to August 2010.
Omar Ayyub completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of Maryland in the year 2010. Omar then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the same university from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, they joined the National Human Genome Research Institute, specializing in Clinical Biochemical Genetics, until 2016.
