Torben Gillich has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Torben started their career as a research assistant at ETH Zurich in 2007, where they worked for 6 months in the Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology. Torben then pursued their doctoral studies at ETH Zurich, specializing in the self-organization of dendrons for the creation of non-interactive biointerfaces. During this time, they also worked as a postdoctoral fellow.
After completing their PhD, Torben joined ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences as a research assistant in the Laboratory of Adhesives and Polymer Materials. In 2022, Torben assumed the role of Senior Manager Surface & Joining Technologies at Sonova Gruppe. In this position, they led the Surface and Joining Technologies team, managed their development, and provided technical expertise and support. Torben was also responsible for technology scouting, process optimization, and the implementation of statistical methods for process analysis.
