Hongyao “Yao” Yu

Hongyao “Yao” Yu has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they led 4 projects and published 5 peer-reviewed articles. In 2015, they moved to a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). During this time, they led multiple research projects, designed and conducted experiments, analyzed and interpreted data, wrote manuscripts, and had 4 peer-reviewed articles published. In 2020, they began working at Kelly Government Solutions as a Scientist, where they led several multi-institutional collaborations and managed several cross-divisional and internal collaborations. Hongyao “Yao” also developed two novel sequencing methods. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at SeQure Dx.

Hongyao “Yao” Yu completed their Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at Zhejiang University from 2002 to 2006. Hongyao “Yao” then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy in Stem Cell Biology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2006 to 2012. In addition, they have obtained several certificates from edX, including an Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Bioconductor in August 2015, an Honor Code Certificate for Case Study: ChIP-seq data analysis in June 2015, an Honor Code Certificate for Matrix Algebra and Linear Models in June 2015, an Honor Code Certificate for Statistics and R for the Life Sciences in June 2015, and a Case Study: ChIP-seq data analysis certificate.
