Emily Walsh is a highly experienced professional in microbiology and molecular technology, currently serving as the Director of Research Technologies at Seres Therapeutics since October 2015. With a comprehensive background that includes roles as Group Leader, Senior Scientist, and Scientist II, Emily has significantly contributed to research focused on microbial communities and their ecological functions. Prior to joining Seres Therapeutics, Emily worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Forsyth Institute and Harvard School of Dental Medicine, investigating the microbiome related to pancreatic cancer. Emily's earlier experience includes positions at the University of Rhode Island, Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, and Broad Institute, encompassing roles in scientific research, process optimization for DNA sequencing, and oceanographic studies. Emily obtained a Ph.D. in Oceanography/Microbiology from the University of Rhode Island between 2009 and 2014.
