Carolyn Cope is the Founder and Publisher of Umami Girl, a popular food and lifestyle blog established in 2008, attracting a global audience with its engaging content on smart, healthy living. In addition to this role, Carolyn serves as a Columnist for Serious Eats since 2009. Prior experience includes practicing corporate transactional law as an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from 2006 to 2008, and providing consulting services to healthcare companies regarding emerging technologies as the Independent Consultant and CEO of Carolyn G. Cope Consulting, LLC from 2001 to 2002, along with a Senior Analyst position at Fulcrum Analytics from 1999 to 2001. Early career experience includes a Strategic Planner role at The Romann Group from 1998 to 1999, focused on branding and advertising strategies. Carolyn holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, a La Technique Certificate from the French Culinary Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Princeton University.
