Matthias Schäfer

Matthias Schäfer is the Founder and Managing Director of SeRo Systems GmbH, specializing in ADS-B and SSR security and frequency monitoring solutions since May 2014. Additionally, Matthias has served as a Lecturer in Network Security at the University of Kaiserslautern since October 2018. Matthias co-founded the OpenSky Network, a global air traffic control data provider, and held the position of Research Scientist at armasuisse in both 2011-2012 and 2013. Matthias holds a PhD in Computer and Communications Security from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau and has completed a visiting researcher program at the University of Oxford focused on the security of air traffic communication. Educational qualifications include a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, also from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
