Jim Carson

Jim Carson has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Jim began as an Instructor at Outward Bound Sabah in 1999, before transitioning to become a Wildland Firefighter/EMT for the U.S. Forest Service from 1999 to 2002. Following this, they worked as a Futures Trader at Jump Trading, LLC from 2004 to 2007. Jim then joined Deloitte Consulting LLP as a Senior Consultant from 2007 to 2013. From 2013 to 2017, they served as Manager, Medical Cost Analysis at Priority Health, where they led teams responsible for healthcare analytics and regulatory reporting. Currently, Jim is the Director of Data Science at Service Express, Inc., overseeing Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and AI/ML functions, and driving the company's growth and expansion. Throughout their career, Jim has gained extensive experience in predictive modeling, coaching and mentoring data science professionals, and enterprise risk management.

Jim Carson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. Jim also holds a Master of Science degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Michigan. In addition to their educational background, Jim has obtained several certifications, including "Introduction to Complex Analysis" from Coursera, "Data Science Specialization" from Coursera Course Certificates, "15.071x: The Analytics Edge" from edX, "Fellow of the Society of Actuaries" from the Society of Actuaries, "Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst" from the Society of Actuaries, "Member of the American Academy of Actuaries" from the American Academy of Actuaries, and "Certified Employee Benefits Specialist" from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
