Gonzalo I. Mardones serves as the Head of the Tax Crime Prosecution & Litigation Unit at the Tax Administration (SII - Chile) since March 2020, where responsibilities include formulating criminal prosecution strategies for tax-related offenses and representing Chile in the OECD Task Force on Tax and Crimes. Previous experience includes roles as a lawyer and analyst at the Prosecution Office from May 2017 to March 2020, as well as teaching Criminal Law at Autonoma University and Catholic University Cardenal Raúl Silva Henríquez. Gonzalo's early career involved significant litigation experience at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where over 300 high-profile cases were managed. Academic qualifications encompass a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Policy from The London School of Economics and various other specialized programs in law and innovation from top institutions in Chile and abroad.
