Alissa Borshchenko

Alissa Borshchenko has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Alissa is currently working as a Principal MSAT Scientist at Servier Pharmaceuticals since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from July 2019 to October 2021 as a Manufacturing Sciences and Technology Specialist. In this role, they provided technical support for technology transfers and assessed manufacturing requirements for new processes.

Before joining Regeneron, Alissa worked at Sanofi Genzyme as a Process Engineer II from August 2016 to July 2019. Here, they focused on improving the productivity of a second-generation monoclonal antibody (mAb) process and developed scale-down models using advanced micro bioreactor platforms.

In 2015, Alissa gained valuable experience as a Cell Banking Manufacturing Sciences Intern at Biogen, where they investigated process improvements and contributed to the qualification of a master cell bank for a clinical program. Additionally, they worked as an Upstream Manufacturing Sciences Intern at Biogen Idec in 2014, where they developed and qualified an assay for detecting bacterial contamination.

Moreover, Alissa began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher, first at MIT's Hamel Lab from December 2015 to May 2016, where they gained research experience, and later at the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research from September 2012 to December 2013. At the latter, they conducted research on secondary structures in RNA to prevent the production of proteins causing Huntington's disease.

Alissa Borshchenko completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical-Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2016. Prior to that, they attended Brooklyn Technical High School, where they obtained a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation and had a major in Gateway to Medicine. Alissa is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree at The Johns Hopkins University, with an expected completion year in 2023.
