Marc Etienne Ray has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Marc Etienne started their career as the Head of Group Controlling at Implenia, where they were responsible for overseeing budgeting, reporting, consolidations, and business performance. Marc Etienne then moved on to PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they served as the Senior Manager and Head of Consolidation and MIS Services, managing a team of consultants and providing financial solutions to various customers. Ray also worked at Nestle as the Head of Group Financial Reporting and Consolidation, leading a team engaged in financial consolidation and reporting activities. Marc Etienne later joined Merck Serono as the Senior Director Finance, where they managed finance operations and served as a member of the Steering Committee. Additionally, Ray served at Merck Millipore as the CFO and at AMEOS Gruppe as the Head of Group Controlling on an interim basis. Currently, they are the Vice President Finance and Group Controller at SGS, where they are responsible for financial planning, analysis, consolidation, and risk management. Overall, Ray has demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience in managing finance functions in various industries.
Marc Etienne Ray completed a Master's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Lausanne - UNIL in 1988. Marc Etienne then obtained a certification as a Swiss Certified Expert for Accounting and Controlling from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Switzerland between the years 1992 and 1995. In 2011, they attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and completed a CAS in Management of Biotech, Medtech & Pharma Ventures. In 2021 and 2022, they attended the Swiss Board School to study Corporate Governance Best Practice - Board of Directors.
