Derrick Smith

Derrick Smith has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Derrick began their career in 2011 as a Diversity Intern at Shelter Insurance Companies, where they assisted on information system projects and performed project reviews and audits. Derrick then worked as a Sports Marketing and Promotions Intern at Southeast Missouri State University, gaining experience in sports marketing and promotions.

In 2012, Derrick joined Champ'SoL Management as a Player Marketing Representative, where they prospect, pitched, and closed sponsor/endorsement sales for venue/marketplace activities. Derrick coordinated on-site activation with key partners.

Derrick then joined Nike in 2017 as a Nike Athlete, representing the brand as an athlete. Derrick later transitioned to Cintas in 2013, where they held various roles including Management Trainee, Stockroom Manager, Market Development Representative, and First Aid & Safety Consultant. In their role as a First Aid & Safety Consultant, Derrick prospect, cold-called, and set up appointments with current customers to service and check their first aid & safety program, ensuring OSHA compliance and safety. Derrick also consulted with clients to ensure their facilities were safe.

Derrick also worked at Prep Hoops as a Basketball Analyst & Scout, where they analyzed and scouted basketball talent. Currently, they are working at Shamrock Trading Corporation. Derrick started in 2018 as a Business Development Manager, and they gradually progressed to roles such as Sales Team Lead, Senior - Team Sales Lead, and currently holds the position of Sales Manager.

Derrick Smith obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sports Management from Southeast Missouri State University. Derrick attended the university from 2009 to 2013.
