Byron Kan

Byron Kan is the EVP & COO at Shanghai Centre. Byron has over 25 years of experience in global real estate investment and management.

Byron started their career in 1988 with Bell Canada, Bell Mobility and Clearnet, where they held various positions over a 9 year period. In 1997, they joined AIG Global Real Estate Investment as Vice President, where they were responsible for managing corporate and client development projects. Byron helped establish the China investment acquisition platform and sourced pipeline deals and formed relations with potential joint venture/joint development partners (foreign and domestic).

In 2007, Byron left AIG to join Shanghai Centre, where they are responsible for the overall operations of the company. Under their leadership, Shanghai Centre has become one of the leading real estate developers in China.

Byron Kan graduated with a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and then went on to earn their MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Byron is also a CFA - Level 1 holder and a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
