Masayuki Hatta

Masayuki Hatta is a Professor of Economics and Management at Surugadai University since April 2011, with a focus on Business Administration, Intellectual Property Rights, Management Information Systems, and Internet Culture. Hatta has previously held roles as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in similar fields at the same university. In addition, Hatta serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Global Communications at the International University of Japan and as a Board Member for Movements for the Internet Active Users, providing policy insights on technological and social issues. Hatta has contributed to the open-source community as a Developer for Debian and the GNU Project and acted as an Adviser for OSDN. Previous experience includes research focused on FLOSS licensing at the Institute of Intellectual Property and contributions as a music columnist for Asahi Shimbun. Hatta's academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Economics and Management from The University of Tokyo, where research involved FLOSS development and multi-agent simulation.
