Carolyn Cogswell

Carolyn Cogswell is an experienced educator and writer with a diverse background in child development and literacy. Since August 2012, Carolyn has served as a Literacy Tutor at Shawnee Heights USD 450. Concurrently, Carolyn contributes as a writer for Topeka Metro Voice. Previous roles include serving as a bilingual parenting specialist for Community Action, Inc., where Carolyn taught child development to Spanish-speaking parents. Carolyn's journalism experience includes positions at The Kansas City Star, Sun Publications, Faimon Publications, and Ellinghouse Publications. Academically, Carolyn has held assistant professor positions at Southeast Missouri State University and Morehead State University, specializing in child development and education. Carolyn's educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Human Ecology from the University of Tennessee, and a master's and bachelor's degree focused on family relations, child development, and education.
