Ahmed Ibrahim, Ph.D.

Ahmed Ibrahim, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of reservoir engineering and geomechanics. Ahmed most recently served as a Senior Reservoir Engineer at ShearFRAC™ since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Apache Corporation from November 2018 to May 2020 as a Reservoir Engineering R&D specialist, focusing on the Delaware Basin and providing technical support to various teams within the company. Ahmed's expertise lies in unconventional and conventional reservoir modeling and simulation, as well as pressure and rate transient analysis.

Before joining Apache Corporation, Ahmed worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University from September 2013 to November 2018. During this time, they gained extensive experience in running laboratory experiments and analyzing data related to different aspects of reservoir engineering. Ahmed also specialized in building and conducting coreflood experiments and developing analytical models for history matching and performance prediction.

Ahmed also had an internship at Solvay from September 2016 to January 2017, where they contributed to the development of innovative solutions and technologies for well stimulation processes. Ahmed conducted coreflood experiments and corrosion tests to evaluate acid solutions and worked on building setups for estimating breakdown pressure and proppant conductivity.

Additionally, Ahmed worked as a Geomechanical Engineer at Advantek International Corporation from February 2010 to August 2013. In this role, they focused on well testing analysis, water injection monitoring, and DCI monitoring. Ahmed also developed a model to simulate hydraulic fractures in vertical or horizontal wells with single or multilayered formations.

Ahmed's early experience includes working as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Cairo University from September 2009 to August 2013.

Ahmed Ibrahim, Ph.D. has an extensive education history in the field of petroleum engineering. Ahmed then pursued a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, specializing in Reservoir Engineering, from Cairo University between 2009 and 2011. Ahmed furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 2013 to 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ahmed has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they completed the "CMOST for Conventional and Tight Reservoirs" certification offered by the Computer Modelling Group Ltd. Ahmed also obtained the "Modeling of Shale, Tight Oil, and Gas Reservoirs" certification from the same institution. Moreover, in 2020, Ahmed completed the "Developing AI Applications on Azure" certification offered by LearnQuest.
