Sandra Burgess

Sandra Burgess is an accomplished professional in risk management with over three decades of experience. Currently serving as the Manager of Risk Management for Memphis-Shelby County Schools since September 2021, Sandra previously held the role of Risk Manager for the City of Memphis from 1997 to 2021, where responsibilities included overseeing citywide insurance and risk management programs and advising division directors on insurance needs. Earlier career positions include Risk Management Analyst and Commercial Claims Representative at Nationwide, where Sandra developed expertise in claims investigation, policy underwriting, and insurance requirements. Sandra holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Insurance/Risk Management from the University of Memphis.
