Ian Clark has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Ian began their career at Schlumberger in 1980, where they held various roles until 2000. From 2000 to 2001, they served as the Region HR Manager for Africa and the Middle East at Transocean. Ian then went on to become the Division Manager for Nigeria from 2001 to 2004, and later the Director of Compensation & Benefits from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they briefly held the position of Division Manager for North East Asia before becoming the VP-HR from 2006 to 2008. Ian returned to Transocean as the VP-HR from 2008 to 2012, and then transitioned to the role of Executive Vice President at Shelf Drilling Inc. in 2012.
Ian Clark earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Heriot-Watt University between 1976 and 1980. Ian later completed the AMP 170 program at Harvard Business School in 2006 and obtained an FT Non Executive Director Diploma from the Financial Times in 2015.
