Franklin Okafor

Franklin Okafor is a Principal Corrosion and Inspection Engineer at Shell, with over a decade of experience in corrosion management, inspection engineering, and materials integrity. Franklin has played a pivotal role in leading the Fabric Maintenance Execution Team for Bonga Main and Life Extension, while also driving the implementation of risk-based inspection strategies and pioneering new technologies for the Bonga FPSO. Previous positions at Shell included Senior Corrosion and Inspection Engineer and Pipeline/Flowline Integrity Engineer, where Franklin achieved significant cost savings and operational efficiencies through innovative approaches. Prior to Shell, Franklin worked as a Financial Analyst at KPMG and as a Physics/Mathematics teacher. Franklin holds a Master’s degree in Subsea Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the University of Lagos.
