Shad Conrad

Shad Conrad has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Shad started their career at MGW Communications in 2011 as a Fiber Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and mapping fiber expansion routes. Shad also performed construction laborer tasks and equipment installations.

In 2014, Shad joined Segra as an OSP Engineer, where they designed, permitted, and managed fiber expansion routes for FTTx and Enterprise customers. Shad successfully completed the "T269" project, which involved deploying 665 miles of new fiber pathway to serve 269 FTTT sites.

Shad then joined Shentel in 2016 as a Sr. Network Engineer, OSPE. Shad later transitioned into the role of Manager, OSP Engineering in 2019. In this role, they led a team responsible for program planning, execution, and management of a large-scale FTTH deployment in the Mid-Atlantic region. Shad also acted as the OSP liaison for interdepartmental strategic initiatives.

In 2021, Shad was promoted to the role of Sr. Manager, PMO - OSP Engineering & Construction at Shentel. Shad provided guidance and support to three direct teams and several indirect teams. Shad led financial forecasting, developed damage recovery and prevention strategies, and drove new market entry.

Overall, Shad Conrad has demonstrated expertise in fiber engineering, project management, and leadership in their various roles in the telecommunications industry.

Shad Conrad obtained an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design Technology from Blue Ridge Community College in 2013. Shad also obtained a Career Studies Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting from the same institution in the same year. In 2017, they received certifications as a Fiber Optics Installer (FOI) from the Electronics Technician Association and as a Mapcom M4 Expert from Mapcom Systems. In 2023, they obtained a certification in National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) Rules for Joint-Use Construction from ikeGPS.
