Sophia Qamar

Sophia Qamar has a diverse range of work experience. Sophia is currently employed as a Chemical Process Engineer at Shermco Industries since July 2023. Prior to this, they were a Process Engineering Intern at Jacobs from May 2023 to July 2023. Sophia also worked as a Control Systems Engineering Intern at EMA, Inc. from May 2022 to May 2023.

Sophia'sacademic experience includes roles at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. At the University of Arizona, they worked as a Semiconductor Data Analyst Research Assistant and a Matlab & Excel Preceptor from August 2021 to May 2023. Sophia gained expertise in data visualization, machine learning optimization frameworks, and semiconductor development. At Arizona State University, they worked as a Semiconductor Research Technician from January 2019 to January 2020.

Additionally, Sophia has experience as an Energy Efficiency Intern at Tucson Electric Power from August 2021 to May 2022. Prior to their technical roles, they worked as a Barista at Starbucks from September 2016 to October 2020.

Sophia Qamar began their education at BASIS Scottsdale High School from 2011 to 2015. Sophia then went on to attend Arizona State University from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Currently, they are pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Arizona, starting in 2021 and expected to graduate in 2023.
