Sam McGarey has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Sam currently works at Sherwood Design Engineers, where they have held various roles since November 2016. Sam started as a Business Development Manager, responsible for sustainable engineering projects such as university campuses, parks, government buildings, homes, and large real estate developments. In August 2018, they were promoted to Associate/Business Development Manager, and in January 2020, they became the Director of Business Development. Prior to Sherwood, Sam worked at Dye Designs Group from August 2007 to July 2016, initially as the Director of Marketing & Business Development and later as the Director of International Business Development. Sam also has experience as a Construction Manager at Nassau Country Club from January 2007 to August 2007 and at White Horse Golf Club from May 2006 to November 2006. In addition, Sam served as an International Business Liaison at Reignwood Pine Valley from May 2005 to September 2005.
Sam McGarey's education history begins in 2000 when they attended St. Mark's School for a period of two years. During this time, they did not obtain a degree or focus on a specific field of study. In 2002, they enrolled at Bond University, where they pursued a Bachelor of International Business degree with a concentration in Chinese Studies. Sam successfully completed their studies in 2006. Following their bachelor's degree, in 2010, Sam attended Harvard University Graduate School of Design for a brief period to study Design Firm Leadership, although it is unclear whether they earned a degree in this field. Finally, in 2016, they obtained a California Real Estate License from ADHI Schools, specializing in Real Estate.
