Val Turner

Regional Archaeologist, Shetland at Shetland Amenity Trust

Val Turner has an extensive career in archaeology, serving as the Regional Archaeologist for Shetland Amenity Trust since November 1986. In addition to this role, Val Turner has held the position of Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Stirling since January 2014, following the completion of a PhD in February 2013, which focused on the location, form, and function of Shetland field systems. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Science in Heritage Management from the Ironbridge Institute, University of Birmingham (1990-1994), and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Birmingham (1977-1981).
