Deanna Spowart has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Deanna began their career as a Business Process Outsourcing Consultant at PwC UK in 1998. Deanna then worked as a Financial Analyst at ExxonMobil in 2000, followed by a role as a Business Analyst at BHP Billiton from 2001 to 2002. Deanna served as a Finance Manager for the Northern Hemisphere at Brambles from 2002 to 2004, and as a Sarbanes Oxley Business Analyst at BP from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they briefly worked as a Sarbanes Oxley Program Manager at ebookers (MrJet).
In 2007, Deanna joined Telstra, where they held various positions. Deanna was a Senior Risk Specialist from 2007 to 2009, leading the Financial Reporting Audit Program. Deanna then became the IT Governance Manager from 2009 to 2010, establishing the Proceed Decision governance for the company-wide Transformation program. From 2010 to 2012, they served as the Manager of IT People & Leadership Strategy, where they developed and executed the People & Leadership strategy for IT, resulting in increased employee engagement and a comprehensive program on leadership and development.
Deanna then worked as a Senior Manager of ITS Sourcing Strategy at Telstra from 2012 to 2013, delivering a labor sourcing strategy and leading the refresh of the IT strategy using an Agile approach. Deanna also had a brief maternity leave from April 2013 to December 2014.
From 2015 to 2016, they held multiple roles at Telstra, including People (Employee) Experience - NBN+ program, where they designed the people experience for Telstra's largest Agile project. Deanna was also an Organizational Development Manager for Telstra Operations, providing consultancy on organizational development strategies.
Deanna joined Origin Energy in 2019 as a Specialist Consultant, focusing on employee development and inclusion. Deanna shaped Origin's culture to be more inclusive and executed various projects focused on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
More recently, in 2020, Deanna joined shilo.people as a Human Resources Consultant, where they create tailored people solutions for clients based on their business objectives.
Throughout their career, Deanna has showcased their expertise in human resources, people strategy implementation, talent management, organizational development, risk management, and financial analysis. Deanna has a proven track record of driving positive change and delivering impactful results in various industries and organizations.
Deanna Spowart holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting from La Trobe University. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include "Evaluating Equity" from the Josh Bersin Academy, which was obtained in June 2021, "Shaping Work of the Future" from the MIT Sloan School of Management, obtained in May 2019, and "Certified Practicing Accountant" from CPA Australia, obtained in 1999.
