Sungho Ryu

Sungho Ryu has extensive experience in BSA/AML technology and compliance, currently serving as AVP at Shinhan Bank America since November 2016, overseeing Transaction Monitoring, KYC/Customer Risk Scoring, and Sanction Filtering System operations. In this role, Sungho supports regulatory certifications and technical documentation. Prior to this, Sungho worked as an Associate in the Compliance team, where responsibilities included data analysis and EDD reviews. Sungho also has a background in research from the University of Connecticut, focusing on benefit-cost analysis and optimization in natural resource economics, complemented by earlier experience as an Associate Banker managing commercial client relationships and operations at Shinhan Bank America. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
