Mark Braboy

Mark Braboy is a seasoned freelance journalist specializing in music, culture, and cannabis reporting, with a primary focus on Black music, particularly hip hop and R&B. Since February 2018, Mark has contributed to various publications, including Billboard and Vibe Media, creating a wide array of content such as features, interviews, and music criticism. Current contributions include roles as a freelance contributor for Chicago Tribune Media Group and as a contributing writer for ESSENCE Girls United, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Shondaland, The TRiiBE, and Chicago Sun-Times, covering arts, culture, and local music scenes in Chicago. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Jackson State University, earned in 2016.
