Oleksii Shykun

Oleksii Shykun has extensive experience in software engineering, specializing in backend development. Oleksii has held senior positions at various companies, including Shopmonkey, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and was responsible for optimizing database performance and refactoring code. Oleksii also served as a Team Lead for the Mobile API team, leading a team of three, and worked on splitting monolithic applications into separate services.

Prior to Shopmonkey, Oleksii worked for a company under NDA as a Technical Lead, designing and developing backend services with SOA-oriented and N-tier approaches. Oleksii also served as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on server-side development and microservice architecture.

Before that, Oleksii held positions at Zoolatech, LLC as a Senior Node.js Software Engineer, where they worked on server-side development for a FinTech startup, and at ClanPlay as a Senior Node.js Software Engineer, developing a messaging platform for clan-based mobile games.

Additionally, Oleksii has experience at GlobalLogic as a Node.js Software Engineer, supporting and developing a SaaS integration platform, and as a Java Software Engineer, working on a search API engine based on Lucene/SOLR.

Oleksii began their career at Infopulse as a Java Software Engineer, where they developed web client modules using JSF and Spring, as well as performed testing duties as a Test Engineer.

Throughout their career, Oleksii has worked with various technologies, including MongoDB, GraphQL, NestJS, Express.js, Redis, RabbitMQ, Koa.js, AngularJS, Lucene/SOLR, Hadoop, Cassandra, and Spring, among others.

Oleksii Shykun holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the National Aviation University Institute of Computers Science, which they completed in 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the same institute, which they completed in 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Oleksii obtained the "Vue JS Essentials with Vuex and Vue Router" certification from Udemy in November 2019. Oleksii also holds an "Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer" certification, obtained in March 2012.
