Laura Parker has a diverse work experience history. Laura is currently working as an Assistant Academic Director at Shorelight since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a First Year Advisor and Adjunct Professor at American University from August 2021 to March 2022. From September 2018 to July 2021, they served as a Student Services Advisor and Adjunct Professor at American University through Shorelight. Before that, they were a VISTA Leader at AmeriCorps from August 2017 to September 2018, and a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Youth Development Sector from July 2015 to August 2017. Laura also worked as a Teaching Assistant at American University from August 2014 to June 2015, and as a Lead Instructor at The Great Adventure Lab from August 2014 to June 2015. Prior to that, they served as a Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA at AmeriCorps from August 2013 to August 2014. Laura also has experience as a Ropes Course Director/Summer Staff and Summer Staff at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center from May 2012 to August 2013. Laura Parker completed their education with a Master of Arts in Public Anthropology from American University in the years 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa between 2010 and 2013. Additionally, in 2012, they studied Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad de Oviedo for a year.
