John A. RUIZ HERNANDEZ

John A. Ruiz Hernandez has extensive work experience in the field of computer vision and machine learning. John A. is currently serving as the Director of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at ShotQuality since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Tul as the Head of Data Science from August 2021 to November 2022. John A. also served as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at AITuring from September 2020 to August 2021.

Before these roles, John worked at Genius Sports as a Senior Computer Vision Scientist from September 2018 to September 2020. John A. also held the position of Gerente de Computacion Movil (Mobile Computing Manager) at Sistemas y Computadores S.A. from August 2017 to June 2018.

John's earlier work experience includes being a Research Scientist at SmartMeUp from September 2014 to July 2017, where they focused on designing new methods for object detection and facial analysis. John A. also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at GREYC from January 2013 to August 2014, conducting studies on including semantic expert knowledge during the learning process and developing algorithms for object recognition. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu from January 2012 to December 2012.

Before joining academia, John worked at INRIA as an R&D Engineer and Assistant Researcher from September 2007 to December 2011. During their time there, they proposed and developed algorithms for recognizing facial characteristics and analyzed algorithms for face detection using Gaussian derivatives embedded in mobile phones. John A. also worked at INRIA as a Master's Student from September 2006 to June 2007.

John A. Ruiz Hernandez completed their education in the following institutions:
