Hideki Shibata

Hideki Shibata is the current Chief Digital Officer at Showa Denko. Prior to their current position, Shibata held various positions at J.F. Oberlin University, Tokyo, Somemiya Gardening, Inc., Sony Group Corp., and Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Corp.

Shibata began their career at Sony Group Corp. in March 2021 as the VP For Special Mission. In this role, they were responsible for project management for strategic special mission. Hideki then transitioned to Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Corp. in June 2019 to serve as the Sr. General Manager of the System Solutions Business Division where they oversaw corporate officer development for AI machine vision solution business development.

From December 2016 to May 2020, Shibata served as the CFO and Sr. General Manager of the Planning and Control Division at Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Corp. In this role, they were responsible for strategy, corporate development, and new business initiatives. Hideki then became the Senior General Manager of Corporate Strategy at Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corp. from June 2016 to November 2016 before taking on the role of Chief Financial Strategist at Sony from June 2015 to July 2016.

Prior to their work in the technology sector, Shibata worked in investment banking as the Managing Director, Head of Technology, Media, and Telecom Investment Banking in Japan at J.P. Morgan from July 2009 to June 2015.

Hideki Shibata has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from NYU Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from Kyoto University.
