Brian Dawley

Brian Dawley is a Principal Patent Attorney at Shumaker & Sieffert since November 2006, with experience in drafting patent applications, preparing responses to office actions, conducting legal research, and providing non-infringement and invalidity opinions. Previously, Brian served as a patent prosecution associate and law clerk at the same firm. In academia, Brian has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, teaching Patent Prosecution courses from September 2019 to May 2023. Early in their career, Brian gained experience as a student grader at The Ohio State University and held summer intern positions at the Center of Science and Industry. Brian holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University.
