Born and brought up in a big city in China filled with concrete high-rises, Maureen was stunned by nature’s unimaginable beauty on Vancouver Island. Ten years ago, she made her most important decision to stay and live in Victoria.
Maureen has a BA degree and a diploma in accounting. Over ten years of combined work experience in government, corporate and non-profit organizations have given her extensive expertise in accounting, finance and administration. She joined the Sierra Club BC Finance Department in 2009.
Along with her busy schedule of working and raising a lovely son, Maureen manages to find time to explore the Island. She has camped in Bamfield, fished in the Pacific Ocean, hiked along the West Coast Trail (though not quite finished it!), and visited many places on Vancouver Island from east to west and south to north.
Maureen feels so privileged to work for environment protection and conservation.
