Jason Gabbert

Jason Gabbert is a seasoned aerospace engineer with extensive experience in spacecraft operations and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Systems Engineer at Sierra Space since December 2016, Jason leads the flight ops and spacecraft systems team, focusing on recruiting and aligning flight control personnel. Prior experience includes roles as a Satellite Systems Engineer/Operator at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where Jason conducted real-time spacecraft operations, and as a Flight Controller at United Space Alliance, where Jason developed and coordinated procedures for mission support. With a Master's degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, along with ongoing studies at the University of Maryland, Jason has demonstrated expertise in technical leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication in high-pressure environments. Notable achievements include training approximately 50 astronauts and engineers, managing the Expedition 29 long-term on-orbit activity plan, and authoring over 25 on-orbit procedures.
