Ankush Walhekar

Ankush Walhekar has a diverse work experience spanning across various companies. Ankush started their career at Satyam Computer Services Limited as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the development of CAFM 1.0, a subscriber management solution. Ankush then moved on to integral Inc, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and played a key role in the development of the FXI grid, a foreign exchange trading product.

After that, Ankush joined TIAA as a Senior Software Engineer, where they served as the lead architect for their Weblogic Portal 10.0 and Web-Analytics initiatives. Ankush later joined DIRECTV as a Principal Engineer and subsequently as a Senior Engineering Manager. At DIRECTV, they were responsible for the architecture, development, support, and performance of the offers, orders, and decisioning systems.

Ankush then moved to YapStone as a Senior Engineering Manager, where their teams achieved notable success by delivering Apple Pay and Masterpass integrations within record timeframes. Ankush then joined Coupang as a Senior Engineering Manager and helped build the audience platform from scratch, revolutionizing the customer experience.

Currently, Ankush is working at Sift, where they have held several roles. Ankush started as a Senior Engineering Manager before being promoted to Director of Engineering and then Senior Director of Engineering. In their current role, Ankush manages multiple teams, including Machine Learning, Data, Infra, Console & Reporting, and Security. Ankush is responsible for the strategic direction of various functions, such as infrastructure, machine learning, security operations, and cloud operations.

Throughout their career, Ankush has demonstrated their expertise in technology leadership and has contributed to the success and growth of the organizations they have worked for.

Ankush Walhekar completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University between 1998 and 2002. From 2022 to 2024, Ankush will be pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Ankush also has a background in Management Information Systems, General, from the Society of Information Management - SIM RLF.
