Patrick Leung is the current Chief Technology Officer at Sightway Capital. Patrick has also previously served as the Chief Technology Officer, Private Investments at Two Sigma from January 2019 to December 2020. In this role, they led the Quantitative Private Investing technology group, which included Sightway Capital, Two Sigma Ventures, and Two Sigma Impact. Patrick's group was responsible for applying Two Sigma's data science expertise, technology, and wealth of data in order to transform private market investing using machine learning and quantitative methods. Prior to their time at Two Sigma, Leung served as the VP Engineering and Product at Playlist, Inc from January 2009 to December 2009. In this role, they were responsible for all areas of engineering, product strategy and design. Patrick launched many innovative features during their time at Playlist, Inc, including group playlists, video playlists, and musical activity feeds. Patrick also created a full e-commerce system for music downloads. In addition to their work in the engineering department, Leung also helped shape the company strategy and business model as a member of the executive team.
Patrick Leung attended the University of Auckland for both their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Patrick completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Information Systems (BCom). Patrick also attended Auckland Grammar School.
Patrick Leung reports to Wray Thorn, Chief Investment Officer. They are on a team with Christian Diez - Head of Finance & Fund Operations, Quyen Tran - Director of Investor Relations, and Jeff Nemanick - Investment Partner.
