Clay Howser

Clay Howser has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Clay began their career at Applied Technology, a division of Litton Industries, where they worked as a Manufacturing Engineer from 1983 to 1987. Clay then moved on to Xidex Corp, where they served as a Senior Automation Engineer from 1987 to 1989. Following this, they worked at HMT Technology as a Senior Process Engineer in 1989 and at Tekna/S-TRON as a Production Support Manager from 1990 to 1992.

In 1992, Clay joined Portola Packaging as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Senior Automation Engineer. Clay played a key role in the startup of multiple product lines, incorporating various automated systems such as robotics, packaging equipment, vision inspection systems, and more. Clay remained with Portola Packaging until 2011.

After leaving Portola Packaging, Clay joined Activate Drinks, a startup food and beverage company, as the Vice President of Operations. Clay was responsible for developing high-speed automated closure filling and assembly equipment with specialized capabilities for handling unique closures. Clay held this position from 2011 to 2014.

Following their tenure at Activate Drinks, Clay became the Head of Operations at Imagine That Beverages, another startup food and beverage company. Clay was involved in redesigning an existing dispensing closure, relocating mold manufacturing and closure molding operations, and addressing various assembly and manufacturability issues. Clay worked at Imagine That Beverages from 2014 to 2016.

Currently, Clay holds the position of Director of Project Management at Silgan Closures, a company they joined in 2016.

Clay Howser earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they attended from 1978 to 1982. Prior to that, they attended Bethel Park High School but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned.
