David O.

David O. has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. David began their career as a Technical Support Analyst at Eircom Multimedia in 1999 before transitioning to a leadership role as a Technical Support Team Leader. In 2000, they joined Go2Web as a Web Developer/Administrator/Designer, where they developed parts of their content management system using Python WebWare, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

In 2002, David joined Trinity College Dublin, where they held various roles including Summer Intern, Postgraduate Research Student, Research Fellow in the School of Computer Science and Statistics, and Research Fellow in the School of Physics. Their research work focused on grid computing, security, and trust. David also served as an Occasional Lecturer during their time at Trinity College Dublin. David completed their Ph.D. with a dissertation on "Trust Evaluation for the Grid."

In 2010, David became the Director of the Grid-Ireland Operations Centre at Trinity College Dublin, where they were responsible for the research and operational activities of the Operations Centre. David also sought opportunities for collaborations and participated in writing research proposals for funding. Additionally, David was a Member of Lero – the Irish Software Engineering Research Centre from 2011 to 2013.

From 2013 to 2022, David worked at SilverCloud® in various roles including Senior Software Engineer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Privacy Manager. During their time at SilverCloud®, David also served as Head of Security and Compliance, Europe from May to December 2022.

In 2021, David joined Amwell as a SilverCloud CISO, and in 2023, they transitioned to the role of Privacy Manager.

David O. obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they also earned a B.A. (Mod.) in Computer Science from the same institution, completing their studies from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, David O. pursued additional certifications, including "Prepare for the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) Exam" from LinkedIn in May 2022, and the "Certificate in Data Protection Practice" from the Law Society of Ireland in 2019 (specific month not provided).
