Eddy De Waegeneer has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Eddy is currently working as a Robotics and Autonomous Systems Architect at SiMa.ai since January 2022. At SiMa.ai, they focus on developing machine learning solutions and delivering MLSoC platforms with improved performance and power efficiency.

Prior to their current role, Eddy worked at Xilinx from January 2000 to January 2022. During their tenure, they held multiple positions, including DSP Specialist FAE EMEA and Machine Learning and DSP Specialist EMEA. In these roles, they provided consulting services in machine learning, deep learning, and general DSP to customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Eddy'sresponsibilities involved training neural networks, pruning and quantization, compilation on deployment targets, and working with CNNs, LSTMs, and RNNs.

Before joining Xilinx, Eddy was the owner of Embedded-FPGA-Consult from May 2015 onwards. In this role, they provided senior consultancy for advanced FPGA-related projects, with expertise in embedded development, high-speed memory interfaces, and serial communication interfaces.

Additionally, Eddy worked at VER as an Embedded Software and Hardware Consultant from May 2015 to March 2017, primarily supporting Revolution Displays. Eddy also served as a Senior Field Applications Engineer at Cypress Semiconductor from January 1996 to December 1999, where they provided technical and commercial support for USB microcontrollers, framers, and programmable logic devices.

Eddy's early career includes roles at Alcatel, where they worked as a Digital Test Engineer, Digital Design Engineer, and FPGA Designer from April 1990 to December 1995. Eddy'swork at Alcatel involved digital design, ASIC testing, and board-level design for broadband systems.

Overall, Eddy De Waegeneer has extensive experience in machine learning, embedded systems, FPGA development, and technical support, gained through various roles in multiple companies throughout their career.

Eddy De Waegeneer began their education at Vrij Technisch Instituut Aalst from 1977 to 1983, where they completed their high school degree with a focus on Electricity & Mechanics. Following this, they attended Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 1983 to 1989, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During their time at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, they specialized in Digital Signal Processing, specifically in ARMA Modelling applied in Geographical Sciences.

In addition to their formal education, Eddy De Waegeneer also completed a certification in the Standford online Machine Learning Course through Coursera in April 2017, as confirmed by their Coursera Course Certificates.
