Omar Memon, Ph.D., is a seasoned aerospace engineer with a diverse background in both technical engineering and journalism. Currently serving as a Power Plant/Inspection Engineer and Technical Educator at MTU Aero Engines since June 2019, Omar also contributes as a Technical Journalist for Simple Flying, which is recognized as the world's largest aviation news channel, since September 2022. Omar's experience includes roles as a STEM Specialist at CCMA and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Queen's University, along with significant academic achievements, holding a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Dayton, where research focused on the quantification of lost work potential in wingtip vortices. Additional experience includes research engineering at the University of Dayton Research Institute and software engineering at Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited, complemented by an early internship with Pakistan International Airlines.
